"Stupid Girls" is the first single released from Pink's fourth studio album, I'm Not Dead. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on the week of February 25, 2006 at #24. It was the Hot Shot Debut of that week and one of the top debuting singles of 2006. On the week of March 4, the single climbed to #13, becoming Pink's eighth top 20 song in the United States. On the Australian ARIA Singles Chart it entered at #4. It also peaked at #4 in the UK Singles Chart.

Song information

Pink has explained that she noticed many young girls near her Los Angeles home aspire to the hypersexual personae of female pop icons, rather than careers or talents. The unorthodox pop star was inspired to write "Stupid Girls", in which she deplores the lack of good role models for girls whilst encouraging them to cultivate independence.

The music video for "Stupid Girls" was directed by Dave Mayers and premiered on MTV's music video program Total Request Live on January 30, 2006. The video has also retired on the Poland version of MTV's TRL.

The music video for "Stupid Girls" shows Pink as both an angel and a demon, who try to influence the future of a young girl. The angel shows her a series of images demonstrating the stupidity of current trends in female celebrity, all of which feature Pink in various roles. The video ends with the girl choosing a football, educational toys and a keyboard over a set of dolls; the demon is defeated.
